Why is Rep. Virgil Goode going out of his way not to have to face his opponent Tom Periello in a debate? Virgil bailed at the last minute on a debate that was scheduled for October 1st, prompting Periello to challenge him to another debate, which Virgil seems hesitant, if not scared to take up.
I guess Virgil “The Duck” is hoping to run out the clock this year and go another day without having to explain his disturbingly close ties to lobbyists and his 9/11 parties with them. However, the news that Periello is closing fast in the last weeks of the campaign may indicate that 5th District voters want a Representative who isn’t afraid to stand in a room and explain himself and his stances. Then again if I were Virgil I wouldn’t be able to come up with an excuse for those things either.
